WAVES is governed by a National Executive Board. Each chapter will provide leadership in the way of chapter coordinators. Each chapter should have at least 4 leaders to cover the following coordinator roles and agree to abide by WAVES bylaws.

WAVES chapter leadership structure:
- MEMBERSHIP AND OUTREACH COORDINATOR. The Membership and Outreach Coordinator shall be responsible for finding ways to engage new athletes, working with social media and social coordinator to recruit new members, maintaining a current club roster, revised on a monthly basis, emailing a “Welcome Letter” to new members, forwarding a current club roster to the WAVES executive board on a monthly basis, forwarding a current club roster to any club sponsor wishing to receive same. This coordinator has fiduciary responsibilities surrounding member dues for the use of club related functions. This coordinator may choose to have a committee to assist with these functions.
- SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR. The Social Media Coordinator shall be responsible for the membership newsletters, updating social media, and website content. Creating any ‘events on Facebook’ for meetings other events also falls within this coordinator’s responsibilities. Social Media Coordinator will support all positions in communications and club promotion. This coordinator may choose to have a committee to assist with these functions.
- TRAINING, EDUCATION AND RACE COORDINATOR. The Training and Education Coordinator shall be responsible for creating or planning training and education opportunities for the members. They will establish a list of club races, with input from the members, and fostering a team atmosphere at these races. They will provide information about Club events, communicate race ratings, team pictures, etc. This coordinator may choose to have a committee to assist with these functions.
- SOCIAL COORDINATOR. The Social Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Board with scheduling and planning social events such as monthly happy hours and special events. The social coordinator will engage local businesses, seek local sponsorship and look for ways to give back to the community. In addition, the Social Coordinator will assist the Membership and Social Media Coordinators as necessary. This coordinator may choose to have a committee to assist with these functions.
